ABOUT ME

Hi – I’m Dave.

If you’ve found your way here, you might be feeling anxious, down, disconnected, or uncertain about your next steps. You may be navigating stress, grief, low self-worth, relationship strain, or simply a sense that something in life feels off or unfulfilled. Whatever brings you here, I’m glad you’re taking this step.

I offer counseling to adults and teens 15 and older who want to live with more clarity, groundedness, and meaning—even if you’re not sure what that looks like yet. Together, we explore what matters most to you and identify what’s getting in the way, working toward greater self-awareness, emotional recognition, understanding, expression, and regulation, while building practical skills to move forward with intention.

Drawing on over 20 years as a physical therapist, I deeply understand how physical challenges—injury, pain, or changes in ability—can ripple into emotional health and unsettle your sense of self. Whether you’re a worker, athlete, performer, weekend warrior, or facing new responsibilities, we’ll explore these transitions together, honoring your passions and discovering new pathways toward resilience and purpose.

Therapy is a space to feel heard and supported. With compassion and respect, we’ll pause, reflect, and chart a path toward a life that feels more aligned, intentional, and true to you.

Additional background and interests….

Outside of my clinical work, I’m also a drummer and photographer who values creative expression as a therapeutic tool. I’ve seen firsthand how music and capturing a moment through a lens can open new pathways for insight and healing.

I’m an avid nature enthusiast—whether hiking a mountain trail or simply sitting among trees, I find that time outdoors can reset the mind, foster mindfulness, and deepen our sense of connection to ourselves and the world around us. I often integrate these experiences into my practice as complementary ways to support overall wellness.

how i work

My counseling sessions are conducted one-on-one, offering a supportive, confidential space where you can explore what matters most to you. As a licensed professional in Washington State, I follow the American Counseling Association’s Code of Ethics—along with state guidelines—to ensure your privacy and the careful handling of all information. I take a client-centered, collaborative approach, drawing on a variety of evidence-based methods. At the heart of my work is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which supports you in clarifying your values, embracing life’s challenges with openness, and taking meaningful action toward a more fulfilling life. You can learn more about ACT here.

I do offer a couple of low fee counseling spots for those in need with limited resources. Please inquire regarding availability.

  • BE PRESENT

It starts with being able to contact the present moment and then notice whatever is going on for us inside.

  • OPEN UP

Acknowledge and be willing to make space for the unpleasant things that show up - thoughts, feelings, memories, etc.

  • Actively Engage

Regardless of the challenges that life throws at us, learn how to take effective action guided by who and what matters most to us (i.e. our values).
